Emily Wilson grew up in the Blue Ridge Mountains of Central Virginia; after college, she moved west seeking higher mountains and has never looked back. She’s a high-school history and social studies teacher by day, but makes her afternoons and weekends count with mountain biking, rock climbing, packrafting, and hiking around her Leavenworth, Washington, home. Emily’s secret talent is finding used gear online, tapping into resources like Facebook Marketplace, Poshmark and Mercari, GearTrade, eBay, and more—one of her best scores was a pair of barely used La Sportiva Katana climbing shoes. In addition to climbing across the U.S. and in Mexico, Emily has summited four out of five of Washington's volcanoes (and come hell or high water, will one day stand atop the elusive Glacier Peak).
