Sustainability
The Arc’teryx Beta is highly rated for sustainability. The jacket features a Gore-Tex ePE waterproof membrane that is PFAS free and made with Bluesign-approved materials. Additionally, the fabric’s backer in recycled nylon, and the whole jacket is treated with a PFAS-free durable water-repellent finish.
Like all Arc’teryx products, the Beta comes with access to ReBird, the company’s hub for product care, repair, and resale. If the jacket needs a fix, such as a broken zipper, tear, or re-waterproofing, you can take it to an Arc’teryx repair center or mail it in. Additionally, used products can be resold in exchange for Arc’teryx credit. Arc’teryx also tracks its carbon footprint and is working towards its emissions reduction targets. The brand publishes updates on this progress and more in its annual impact report. Overall, the Arc’teryx Beta is in the top tier for sustainability among rain jackets.
Below we break down in detail all of the Beta's sustainability attributes at the product and brand level, including links to in-depth articles on relevant topics. For more, see our guide to the best rain jackets and our review of the Beta.
