Sustainability
Updated:
Jan 23, 2026The M10 Storm is another top-tier product for sustainability from Patagonia. The jacket’s waterproof shell is made from 100% recycled nylon and includes both a membrane and durable water-repellent (DWR) treatment that are PFAS free. As we see in most Patagonia products, the M10 storm jacket is also produced in a Fair Trade Certified (FTC) factory.
With the M10, you get access to Patagonia’s comprehensive repair program through its Ironclad Guarantee, ensuring you can keep the jacket in use for a long time. When it’s time for something new, you can give it a second home through Worn Wear, Patagonia’s hub for used gear resale. On top of that, Patagonia tracks its greenhouse gas emissions and overall environmental impact on its website. Lastly, as with all Patagonia products, the M10 comes in Forest Stewardship Council-certified packaging made of recycled materials or post-consumer waste. All told we give the M10 a high sustainability rating, with a slight downgrade for lacking Bluesign-approved materials.
Below we break down in detail all of the M10 Storm's sustainability attributes at the product and brand level, including links to in-depth articles on relevant topics. For more, see our guide to the best rain jackets and our review of the M10 Storm.
